This is our very first issue.

​

Asterisk began as a university project — anassignment, a simple idea. But it quickly became something much more. A magazine that doesn’t just showcase fashion and music but questions what they mean today — and who they speak to.

​

On these pages, fashion, music, and culture don’t exist as separate domains. They intersect. They form a shared language. A language of a generation that grew up online but longs for depth. A generation that understands the value of style but refuses to be reduced to an image.

Because sound and style aren’t just reflections of the world — they are ways to shape it. They are tools of resistance, forms of expression, and spaces of freedom. The asterisk — like the symbol itself — is subtle. It’s a footnote, not a headline. A mark that invites pause. It creates space for what often gets skipped: context, nuance, and everything in between.

Creating this issue brought us joy — but also challenge. We worked between lectures, balanced deadlines with passion, and navigated more than a few technical hiccups along the way. There were moments of doubt, frustration, and exhaustion. But in every interview, every image, every page — we found something that reminded us why we were doing this. In this issue, we explore different dimensions of sound and style. Each piece — short or long — is part of a broader conversation about how music and fashion not only reflect the world but actively build it how they speak to us — and about us.

If Asterisk has any mission, it’s this: To find meaning in aesthetics and emotion in image. To linger on what’s easy to miss. And if we’ve managed to capture even a fraction of that complexity — then it was all worth it.
